2019-07-25 - 4:01 p
Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) Chief Executive Mohammed bin Dinah stressed that the SCE has reached out to all 24 factories producing plastic bags in the Kingdom of Bahrain to ensure their ability to produce biodegradable bags, explaining that the production rate of this type of bags was between 47% and 50%, while factories will be obliged now to produce them by 100%.
Bin Dinah confirmed that under the ban on the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags as of Thursday, July 25, 2019, there will be no costs or burdens on citizens and residents, noting that many supermarkets have been using this type of bags since years, and there is no connection between the bag quality and its decomposition.
